Piece of Cake 016

Piece of Cake 016

It’s that time of the month again! We’re already halfway through the year, which kind of just blows my mind.

I think it’s partially due to the fact that it really hasn’t felt like a true summer until about this week. It’s amazing how the weather can really throw off your entire summer barometer.

June was honestly a pretty low key month for us, so this Piece of Cake will be short and to the point. So let’s dive right in!

Piece of Cake: Mindfulness

This month has really been all about mindfulness for me. From recording the videos to the new mindful eating program, to acupuncture to IVF treatments, it’s been a great month to take a look inward.

Piece of Mind Program

I’m honestly seriously so excited for the mindful eating program that’s going to be coming out soon. After recording the content the other weekend, I was so inspired and feeling incredible.

If you struggle at all with eating, sick of the yo-yo dieting, or maybe have a negative loop running in your mind about your body, this program is definitely going to be for you.

It’s a 12-week deep dive into all things mindful eating to help you break the diet cycle and start to live a life you love. 12 video modules and five 1:1 coaching sessions are going to help get you to a place of comfort around food.

If this is something that you’re at all interested in, let’s have a chat!

Acupuncture and Mindfulness

Acupuncture has taught me so much about my body and my mind, and how the two truly do work together.

I cannot say enough good things about the acupuncturist I see here in Madison. Kathleen has been a Godsend when it comes to getting my emotions in check, and also preparing my body for IVF.

If you’re in the Madison area and are looking for someone who can connect your body, mind and spirit into one appointment, then you HAVE to see Kathleen from Metamorphosis Holistic Health.

IVF and Mindfulness

IVF has still been going well, even after getting sick from egg retrieval. But I realized that there’s a lot to be mindful of when going through this entire process.

It takes a lot out of you, both mentally and physically. If you’re not really paying attention to how you feel and being aware of what’s going on mentally, the whole process might not connect.

I am so, so grateful for the team we worked with at Wisconsin Fertility Institute {also here in Madison}. They were so incredibly supportive and called to check to see how I was doing every step of the way.

This whole process, and even leading up to making the decision to go through IVF, can be a lot. But having an amazing, supportive team made all the difference.

What I’m Loving

standing in front of mirror: paperbag leopard print shorts
  1. These paperbag shorts that were work appropriate {at least for me and my office}. They’re super comfy, flowy and just the right length.
  2. This podcast {episode 100} on whether or not you should give up on your dreams. Hint: the answer is no {but totally worth listening to why}.
  3. A new home decor store called ‘At Home’. If you’ve never been to one, it’s a must-go! It’s like a hybrid of Home Goods and Hobby Lobby. Just plan on spending at least an hour there.

What You’re Loving

  1. Healthy Peanut Butter Granola Cups – I’m glad to see you’re loving these as much as I do! They’re the perfect make-ahead breakfast that’s dairy free and delish!
  2. This healthy coffee cake is a serious fave! It’s dairy free and super tender. Definitely worth making for any brunch you have coming up.

Even though I’ll chat with you before then, I hope you have the most fantastic fourth of July! I have a feeling July is going to bring a lot of changes, and a longer Piece of Cake post, so stay tuned!
