Piece of Cake 029

I honestly feel like I was just sitting here writing the September monthly update. Now here we are, the last couple of days of October.

This month was much calmer in terms of things that happened. We actually got to spend the entire month at home with no traveling! This is a pretty big accomplishment for us.

So let’s dive in to this monthly update. First up, of course the baby!

Piece of Cake: Kennedy updates

It wouldn’t be a monthly update if it didn’t first include what Kennedy’s been up to.

She officially turned 8 months on the 28th. I sometimes find it hard to believe that she’s already that old. Eight months puts us so much closer to the year mark, which honestly doesn’t even seem possible.

Unless she’s sleeping, this girl hates sitting still. She army crawls everywhere, and is pretty fast at it. Actual crawling doesn’t seem to be too far behind, but we’re still waiting on that one.

She can pull herself up to standing, and tries to crawl all over us when we’re on the floor with her. We should probably knock on wood every time we say this, but she’s a great sleeper and is sleeping through the night. We’ll see what the time change brings though.

Bath time is still a favorite activity of hers. Still only two of her bottom teeth are in. She loves to eat, and is enjoying pieces of cut up banana being fed to her. Picking up puff cereal is a possibility, it’s just getting it into her mouth right now. Winston is a big fan of this because most of it ends up on the floor.

Since Halloween is just two days away, we’ll be taking her around two blocks in the neighborhood. She’ll be going as an adorable little unicorn.

Piece of Cake: Eat for Life Collective

This past month in Eat for Life Collective we talked about how to stop food guilt.

I feel like this is such an important topic to cover when it comes to stopping dieting. It’s like we’ve been told for so long that we should feel guilty for eating things like pizza, pasta, cookies, brownies, and even more.

But what happens when we take that guilt away? How do you even begin to take that guilt away?

That’s what we really dive into in the Collective.

If you’re new around here, Eat for Life Collective is a membership experience that helps you truly stop dieting and start having a healthy and sustainable relationship with food, body and mind.

We have monthly trainings {and honestly soooo much more} to help you tackle one part of intuitive eating at a time. Intuitive eating will absolutely change the way you look at food and your own body.

You may think your diet isn’t so bad. That you can handle tracking and eliminating the foods you love.

But why go through life doing something that “isn’t so bad”? Intuitive eating provides you with absolute food freedom so that you can enjoy life to its fullest.

Eat for Life Collective isn’t just the ‘how to’ of intuitive eating. It’s the deeper dive into the mindset and your beliefs around food and your own body. That’s why becoming a member is the perfect place to find community and support it making such a big life change.

Piece of Cake: What I’m loving

There are a few items this month that I’m really enjoying that I want to share with you.

I’m not sure if this happened to a lot of other mamas out there, but after I stopped breastfeeding my boobs shrunk a ton! Like even smaller than before I got pregnant. So that mean new bras.

I’m obsessed with this Warner bra I found on Amazon. It may be pretty plain, but it is honestly sooo comfortable. And the front strap adjustments make all the difference in the world.

For the past six weeks I’ve been doing an at home Barre class. Barre is a mix of ballet and pilates. If you want something that’s low impact, but will seriously make you sweat and test you strength, you have to give this a try!

I’ve been doing a lot less shopping this month, so honestly not a whole lot to share in the things I’m loving area.

Piece of Cake: What you’ve been loving

You guys! I’m so happy to say that there’s a new #2 in town!

For the longest time the six best HIIT workouts held the number two spot. Now, this easy chocolate graveyard cake has taken hold!

Not to mention this healthy chocolate pudding dirt cup. Perfect for the upcoming Halloween holiday, and soo easy to make. Honestly, I would eat this even if it wasn’t Halloween.

There are a couple other recipes I’m so happy to see in the top list.

Like apple pie steel cut oats. I just made a batch the other night, and I forgot how much I love that recipe. So perfect for a cozy fall breakfast.

Also, this caramel apple trifle is a must for Thanksgiving. Oh, and healthy pecan pie bars should also be making your list!
