Piece of Cake 030

We’re getting closer to closing out 2020, which I’m sure most of us are happy that this chapter will be behind us.

But here’s the thing. Just because we’re going to be ringing in a new year in about a month, doesn’t mean that everything’s going to magically change at the stroke of midnight.

So if there’s something you’ve been waiting to do until 2021, stop putting it off! You don’t have to wait until the new year to make a change. Decide for yourself, right here and right now, that you’re going to take that leap.

Okay, now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s dive into the goodness that was November.

Piece of Cake: Kennedy Updates

We officially have a crawler on our hands! Girlfriend can move too.

She’s now getting into everything, including Winston’s food and water dishes. Climbing is a favorite pastime as well. Basically she hates sitting still.

Bath time is still probably one of her favorites {watch an adorable video here}. We’re looking at starting some swimming lessons next year after her first birthday.

She enjoys almost any pureed food you give her. Over Thanksgiving she tried some turkey and mashed potatoes. Not sure about the potatoes just yet, but I think she’ll be a fan.

Her top two teeth have started to cut through, so there were a few rough nights, but now she’s getting back to her happy, giggly self.

Christmas should be loads of fun as she really loves getting into everything right now. I can’t wait to share that update next month!

Piece of Cake: Traditions

Every year, since I was born {and before}, my family has always gone and cut down a real Christmas tree.

This year was super special since we got to take Kennedy around with us. The weather was absolutely fantastic, and we think Kennedy really enjoyed looking at all of the trees.

There’s one tradition around the Thanksgiving holiday that I would like to start to break. That’s the tradition of feeling stressed and anxious about our food choices before, during and after the holiday.

I want to break the tradition of feeling like you have to get back on the wagon as soon as Friday hits. Working out extra hard leading into the holiday and then trying to work off everything you ate on that one day.

There’s a whole new way to live during the holidays {and honestly every day after that}. It’s with intuitive eating. Learning to trust what your body needs. Learning to get rid of the guilt and stress your diet brings on.

Piece of Cake: What I’ve been loving

There’s a new podcast {The Things We Didn’t Do by Elise Danielle} that I’ve really been enjoying. It’s business-related, but there are some mindset discussions that can be super helpful outside of business.

A super cozy robe I got at Costco. I’ve had the same robe since college {over 10 years old}. So I thought it was time to do a little upgrade.

I haven’t used this yet, but I’m honestly really intrigued by it. It’s this Bed Head beach waver. If you’ve used something similar, I’d love to know what you thought {tell me in the comments at the bottom of this post}.

Piece of Cake: What you’ve been loving

There are a few recipes that always consistently pop to the top, so here are some others that are starting to creep to the top.

One non-recipe that I love seeing making its way up. Food, body, mind: the intuitive eating health benefits when all three work together.

Super excited about this one too: homemade toaster strudel. I’m a huge breakfast pastry fan, and this gluten free version is incredible!

Finally, apple pie steel cut oats. This recipe is so warm and cozy. Perfect for an easy breakfast to keep you satisfied.

And there we have it! November in a nutshell. I can’t wait to share a year in review and updates on Christmas with Kennedy. I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving and I’ll chat with you soon!
